Sins of the Past

Hello readers. This is my first story in a very long time. It is an adultery romantic type. There will not be a lot of sex, but I hope you read it. Take care and please vote and comment. If you want to communicate, message me on this site. Take care and enjoy the story.

Sam and Mary Arnold grew up in the same town, lived five houses away from each other. Their parents were close friends. Sam had been in love with Mary ever since he could remember. Mary was dating a guy by the name of Mike Reynolds all through middle and high school. Sam never saw anything spectacular about Mike. He was older than her by several years, due to failing an elementary school grade twice. Sam always stayed close to Mary and comforted her when her and Mike fought. It was getting close to the end of their senior year when Mary and Mike broke up. Sam never asked why and Mary never offered up any information. Sam worked hard to get into Mary's heart and with graduation drawing close, he finally succeeded. Mary agreed to be his girlfriend. The rest of the school year was like a dream to Sam. He had the girl and Mike disappeared from his thoughts. Sam proposed to Mary six months after graduation and Mary cried as she said "Yes". The families were ecstatic. Everyone thought the sweethearts would be the perfect couple. Time has a way of cracking the strongest foundation.

Three years later.....

Sam had a job at the local parts store. Mary was a cashier at the Dollar Store. They worked hard and was able to afford rent for a small apartment and a used car. Life is not always easy. Just like many couples the first years were hard on them. They did fight, but they always made up. It happened to be during one of these fights Mary actually moved back in with her mom, Lisa and dad, Alex. Lisa came into the room and tried to comfort her daughter. "Sweetie, life is never roses and sunshine. You have to work at it to make it last. Can you tell me what is wrong?" Mary opened up to her, "Mom, I really screwed up this time. Do you remember Mike? He was my boyfriend for many years. He came into the store two weeks ago and asked me to help him find some items. He said he was leaving to go to the military in 10 days. I don't know what it was mom, but when he told me this, it felt like I was going to have a heart attack. We talked and then he asked me to get lunch. I know I should have said no, mom, but the feelings were just so strong. It felt like I had to see this through. To say goodbye or something."

Lisa did not like where this conversation was heading, but she didn't want to interrupt her daughter. "Continue dear", Lisa said. Mary began to cry. "I went to lunch with him, god it felt like old times, mom. We talked, laughed and he gently touched my hand on the table. It felt like electricity ran through my body mom. We finished eating and he started to drive me back to work. Mike pulled into the back of the store, out of the way so no one could see us. He then reached over and pulled me into a kiss. I know I should have resisted mom, I should have got out of the car and ran, but I did not. Mike and I made love in the back seat mom. I hate myself for this, but it felt good and I wanted to do it again."

Lisa was completely shocked. She thought that Mary and Sam's marriage had been strong for the last several years. Lisa looked at her daughter and said, "Was this the only time?" Lisa dreaded to hear the answer, but she knew that Mary had to get this off her chest. Mary held her head down, "No" was the only thing she could muster. "We made love everyday till he left last weekend." Lisa was at a loss of words. Her daughter had followed her foot steps to the tee. Years ago before she had Mary, she had a month long affair with a coworker. Alex, her husband never found out. She kept that secret. She would die before she let that stupid affair end her marriage to the one man she loved above all else.

Lisa looked at her crying daughter, "Look Mary, you had this fling because you never ended it with Mike years ago. Did you and Mike say your goodbyes this time?" Mary looked up at her mom, "Yes, we talked and we both understand that this was just simply us ending what we had started in school. I told Mike that it was over." "Well then you have your answer sweetie. You have to get through this the simplest, but hardest way. Mike and you are over, but you and Sam are still together. Go back to Sam. Never mention this to him. Love your man like there is no tomorrow. Grow with him, love him and never deny him your heart, mind, body and soul." Lisa wept as she said this. She remembers hearing the same words from her mom years ago.

One month later Mary was waiting for Sam to get home. She thought back on her affair with Mike. She thought about how she felt when they made love. She recalled Mike pounding away into her married pussy. The feeling of his cock at it spread her pussy lips to its limit. She could still feel his strong hands as they squeezed her breasts. The attraction was so strong, she could swear she smelled the musk of their sex even now. She lowered her head and whimpered when she thought about the feeling of Mike's cock spurting his love juice into her fertile womb. It was supposed to be my husband who impregnated me, damn how could she been so stupid. Mary realized the gravity of her mistake. She was attracted to Mike, but she could tell that it was not love. Mary's concentration was broken when she heard the door open. Sam was home.

"Babe, I have something I need to tell you." Sam hung up his jacket in the closet and walked into the little kitchen area, "Lay it on me sweet heart" Sam replied. Sam could tell by her body language that Mary was very nervous. Mary in a whisper of a voice said, "I'm pregnant". Sam ran toward his wife picking her off the ground and hugging her so tight that Mary had to push him away just to get a breath. "My god, this is wonderful. I can't wait to be a dad. You have made me the happiest man alive my beautiful lady!" Sam haled. Mary looked into her husband's eyes. She could see his happiness, could feel his love coursing through her body. She knew she had to bare the secret of her affair for the rest of her life.

Life is funny in the way that it always complicates your plans. Sam was holding Mary's hand as the nurse ran the ultrasound over her large belly. They have been looking forward to this seven month checkup just for this reason. "Well I hope you are prepared for the news Mr. and Mrs. Arnold, you are having twins!" the nurse proclaimed. "Twins?" Sam said as he looked at his beautiful wife. Mary and Sam locked gazes and they both began to cry. Sam was so excited, "I'm going to go call our parents and let them know." Mike walked out of the room smiling so proud. Mary turned toward the nurse, "Ma'am, I need a paternity test done. Please do not mention this to my husband." The nurse's face lost its smile. She was used to this request, it hardly ever turned out for the good of the kids, she thought. "We can do it Mary. Let me get the doctor and he can perform it now. I will go get your husband to fill out the insurance forms. That should give the doctor enough time to complete the test." Mary had to know the truth. Was Sam or Mike the father? If Mike was indeed the father, she would never tell Sam or Mike for that matter. Some truths are better left buried.

The test was completed and Mary supplied the hospital a sample of Sam's DNA a day later. The nurse told her it would be two weeks before they had the results. She prayed that it was Sam's babies. Life for Sam and Mary returned to normal, as much as you can call normal at least. Sam was busy at work. He had been promoted to regional manager for the parts store and traveled every couple of weeks. He took the promotion to earn more money to give his wife and future twins the life they deserved. Sam had just left for one of his trips, when Mary's cell phone rung. She picked it up and saw that it was the doctor's office.

Mary grabbed her coat and headed to the doctor's office. They refused to tell her over the phone the results. She prayed the entire trip to the doctor's office. "God please, please let Sam be the daddy" she said out loud to no one in particular. Once she arrived the nurse took her straight in. "Ma'am, we hate to tell you this, but the DNA from the twins did not match the sample you supplied." The doctor's words rang through Mary's body. She felt light headed, she tried to get up, but fell forward knocking the doctor down, who tried to catch her in vain. Mary's mind went blank and darkness engulfed her spirit.

Mary felt the warmth of the blanket as she woke up. She looked to side of her bed and saw Sam sleeping in a chair. Mary felt pain from the tips of her toes to the top of her head. She turned from her sleeping husband and saw her belly was flat. Mary screamed, Sam startled awake jumped toward his wife. He grabbed her hand and tried to calm her down. The door to her room opened and Lisa and Alex came in carrying two sleeping babies.

The twins were premature by two months, but they were strong kids. Mary held both kids in her arms, looking into their beautiful faces. "Are they ok?" Mary asked. "They are fine dear. A little light in weight, but healthy." Alex said. Sam stood next to his wife and took the sight of his family in. "What are their names?" Lisa asked. Mary turned to Sam, "Lucy and Gwinn". Sam nodded his head in approval. All of his girls were healthy. Sam forgot about the questions he had about why Mary was back at the doctor's office. The beautiful view of his family washed it all away.

Mary was released from the hospital the next day. Mary and the twins were healthy and safe at home now. Due to the way the twins came into the world, the doctor had told Mary before discharging her that the likely hood of her getting pregnant again was slim to none. Mary began to cry, Sam held her close and told her it was ok. Mary could never give Sam his true family. Life had cursed her to never forget her mistake. A mistake that would come full circle sooner rather than later.

The years passed by as all things do. Lucy and Gwinn were now 18 and graduating high school was only a few days away. Both girls were smart, beautiful and had earned scholarships to colleges out of state. Sam was now the vice president of the ABC parent company that owned all the part stores in the south west United States. They were able to move out of the small apartment and bought a nice suburban house with all the trimmings ten years ago. Mary had never strayed again, she was very content and happy with her life. Life was going very good for the Arnold family. Fate decided to raise the stakes.

Sam was sitting at the dinner table reading his paper. Every couple of seconds he would peer over his paper and enjoy the view of his wife's gently swaying ass in the kitchen as she prepared breakfast. Sam looked back to his paper and read the headline aloud, "Local war hero returns home". Mary turned, "Who is the local war hero?" Sam swallowed his sip of coffee and said "Mike Reynolds, I wonder if that is the same Mike Reynolds we knew in school?" The dread and fear Mary thought was buried came roaring back. She had prayed that Mike would never return, it would appear that her prayers were not answered. Sam continued, "They are having a parade and giving him the key to the city. I'm going to call the mayor today and ask if ABC could help in any way." Mary bowed her head, and said, "Honey why don't you just let them worry about it. You have done a lot for the community. If it wasn't for your company expanding and bringing in 2,000 jobs this place would be a ghost town by now." Mary hoped that Sam would see reason, she did not want Sam to see Mike, ever. "It is good PR for ABC honey. All the news agencies will be there. The ABC company logo will be seen by more people" Sam replied. Mary's eyes watered, "please god" she silently prayed, "Please let them not meet."

Sam kissed his wife and left for work. Lucy and Gwinn were with their grandparents today. Alex and Lisa was taking them to buy items for college. Mary left shortly after to get groceries. Mary walked up and down the aisles. Her body was there but her mind was elsewhere. She gathered what was needed, and checked out. As she was walking to the car, she noticed an ambulance streak by. Mary started to drive home. As she came upon the intersection she could see there was an accident, a fire was ragging. The firefighters were fighting the blaze. Mary hoped no one was hurt. Mary sat and waited for the cops to clear traffic. Suddenly Mary's phone rang, it was Sam. "Honey, please get to Mercury Hospital, Lucy, Gwinn and your parents were involved in an accident. I am on my way there now."

Mary pulled her car out, avoided hitting the police cars. A cop jumped in front of her car and stopped her. "Ma'am, what I the hell are you doing!" the cop yelled. Mary was crying hysterically, "Please move I am the mother to the girls involved in the accident, I need to get to the hospital!" The cop understood, "Follow me ma'am, I'll escort you". Mary fell in behind the cop car as they speed to the hospital. Mary parked and ran into the emergency room. Mary's worst fear was blooming in front of her. Life it seems was not done toying with her yet, because standing near the desk talking to a cop was Mike. She would recognize him anywhere. Mary couldn't think, the only thing that mattered was getting to her daughters.

Mary turned the corner, leaving Mike behind and ran into Sam. Sam grabbed her by the shoulders, stopping her suddenly, "Thank god you are here honey. Lucy and your dad are ok, bumps and bruises, your mom is in surgery, but Gwinn is going to need our help. She is stable, but the crash lacerated her kidney. If Mike wasn't there to pull them out and help control Gwinn's bleeding, we would have lost our daughter. Gwinn is going to need a transplant.

The next couple of hours seemed like an eternity. Sam and Mary paced the floor waiting on the results. The doctor appeared shortly, "Ma'am, Sir we have two matches, the man who rescued your family and you Mrs. Arnold are identical matches to Gwinn, but since you were given espial during the birth of your girls, we have no choice but to go with Mike, it gives us the best chance to save Gwinn's life. Since time is of the essence we have already prepped Mike, hopefully within the next couple of hours we will know where we stand." Mary collapsed into the chair, with her head in her hands and cried.

Sam could not believe what he just heard, "Mike and Mary are perfect matches". How in the hell is that possible. He followed the doctor and yelled for him to stop, "Sir, how can I not be a match, I am Gwinn's father." The doctor looked at Sam, he put his hand on Sam shoulder, "Sir, let me save your daughter's life first, then these questions can be answered." Sam felt like he had been kicked in the balls. His daughters were injured, his mother-in-law was in in surgery, now I am not a match to save her life? What in the hell is going on."

Sam walked back to his wife. Alex was crying as he walked up and lifted his daughter up. "Baby girl, I know things are bad right now, but I need you to listen to me. Your mom is not going to make it. There is just too much internal damage to fix. They have her on a morphine drip to ease the pain. She will pass soon, she has asked to speak to you." Mary already at her emotional limit felt like everything was spiraling out of control. Alex led her to her mom's room. Mary entered slowly, she saw her mom hooked up to machines. The heart monitor was beeping. Lisa opened her eyes and beckoned Mary over. "My dear sweet baby, mommy is leaving soon. You have a wonderful family, cherish them, love them and never take them for granted. I have lived a long live, I have seen my only daughter grow up to be a wonderful woman. Cherish your kids, and never let your husband down." Mary cried as she laid her head on her mom's chest. Lisa ran her fingers through Mary's hair. Lisa lifted up her head, "Dear, I messed up a long time ago with a man that meant nothing to me. I let him do things to me that your father never got. I am going to confess to him before I leave this world, I can't go without getting this off my chest. Your father will need you when I am gone. Please take care of him. Please baby girl, go get your dad." Mary raised up, shocked at what her mom just told her, "I will mom, I love you". Mary released her mom's hand and walked out of the room.

Mary watched from outside of the room as her dad's heart was broken. She watched as Lisa motioned for him to come close, bur Alex refused. Mary thought he looked like a man who's live just ended. She watched as he sunk into a chair and hung his head. The sounds of the machines began to beep loudly, nurses rushed in, but it was too late. Lisa passed as Alex sat in the chair and cried.

Twenty four hours had passed. Gwinn and Mark were recovering well from the surgery. Mary sat and watched Sam walk the length of the corridor. She knew her husband, she knew he was thinking about why he wasn't a match to his daughter. She was his daughter, damn it! He may not have impregnated her, but he was there through it all. He never forsaken her. Sam's mind was processing data a million miles an hour. "Why was I not a match? How come Mark was? What in the hell is going on?" he thought. Sam stopped in the middle of the hall. "I can feel something is not right here. I will find out what is going on." Sam made a vow to himself that one way or the other, he will find out the answers. Right now, though, he had to take care of his daughter."

Sam made his way back to his wife. Mary raised up and tried to hug and kiss him. Sam turned away. "Why did I do that" Sam asked himself. Mary felt the hurt course through her body. In all the years they have been married, Sam had never done that. Mary began to fear that Sam was putting it all together and if he did, Mary knew for certain she would lose her husband. Sam left Mary standing in the hallway as he made his way to the cafeteria. He realized he has not eaten in 36 hours. Sam bought the food and sat down. His thoughts still hung on the test results. He had to find answers, maybe Mark would be a good place to start.

Sam stood outside Mark's room and watched as he was being tended to by the nurse. When she was leaving, Sam asked her, "Can I talk to Mark? I'm an old friend, I just want to make sure he is ok?" The nurse waved him in, "He is remarkably stable, he will be released tomorrow morning. Don't make him upset, Ok?" Sam nodded his head and went into Mark's room. Mark was awake and fully aware of his surroundings. He saw Sam enter his room. Sam's eyes met Mark's. Sam started, "It was a miracle that you were there to save my daughters and in-laws life Mark. Right place at the right time I suppose." Sam watched Mark and could tell that Mark understood. "Yes, I suppose it was." Mark replied. Sam continued, "And to be a perfect match, wow! What are the chances?" Mark could hear the anger in Sam's voice. To be perfectly honest, he was shocked to find out he was a match as well. What Sam didn't know was Mark was a doctor in the Air Force. The service paid for his education and he was very good at his job. Mark also knew that the only way he could be a match was if he was related. Mark's mind flashed with images of Mary's naked body in his back seat. The feel of her skin as he pushed into her woman hood. Mark knew Mary was married to Sam, but at the time he didn't care. Mark didn't know if Sam knew about the affair, so he decided to side step any questions till he could talk to Mary. "Sam, I am happy that your kids are doing well. The nurse told me that Gwinn is doing better and will be released in a couple of days. As for the match, I am just happy I could help. Sam, I am very tired and sore, could we continue this later?" Mark said. Sam could tell that something was wrong, he could sense it in the way Mark talked and his demeanor. Sam turned and began to leave, "Thank you for what you did. Hope to talk to you again soon." Sam walked out, "Funny how Mark remembered my name after all these years. We never talked in school. I only know Mark's name because of Mary" Sam felt his stomach knot up, he knew something was wrong in his family.

Mary watched as Sam left Mark's room. She could tell that the visit was not pleasant for Sam. She prayed that Mark didn't tell him about their affair all those years ago. Mary walked briskly up to Mark's room door. She opened it up slightly, Mark was staring at her, "Come on in Mary, I believe we have some things to discuss." Mary was filled with fear, "Oh my god, he knows".

Mark has always been a "cut to the chase" type of guy. Why mince words. Say what you mean, mean what you say, let the world burn so to speak. Mary stood before him at the foot of his bed. "My beautiful Mary, time has been very good to you. You are still as beautiful as the young woman I remember in my back seat." Mike said. Mary, taken back by his brashness replied, "I am not that naive girl anymore. I am married to a wonderful man. I have a good life. My one mistake was those two weeks. I wished to god you never walked into the store." Mark smiled, "But if we didn't spend those two weeks together, fucking each other's brains out, you would never have had the twins." Mary stood there and heard the words, they cut through her, piercing her soul. "You bastard, they are not yours, they are Sam's kids. Sam is the only father they ever known. It takes more than depositing your cum in me to make you a real father. You were always a blow hard ass hole Mark. Time it seems did not change that." "Mary", Mark said, "We both know that those twins are mine. I am a doctor, so I know that when the test came back that I was a match, I was the father. You can deny it all you want, but the truth is you always knew. Does Sam know?" Mary moved toward him, "If you breathe a word of this to Sam, I swear to god you will pay."

Mark laughed a little, his side still hurt, but the stiches held tight. "Mary once I get out of here, I am going to call you. I would advise you to answer. We have lots of catching up to do." Mary pulled back, and ran from Marks room. She turned the corner and saw her husband standing in the hallway. Sam looked at his wife. He saw the tears running down her face. Mary ran up to him and hugged him. Sam said, "Why were you in Mark's room and why are you crying?" Mary thinking wildly blurted out, "I was just thanking him for saving our daughter and I am happy that this ordeal is nearly over." Sam, not completely convinced of her answer dropped his next question. There will be time to find out the answers he needed, but right now he needed to put his family first.

Time moved slowly for the Arnold family. Gwinn was at home still resting and gathering her strength. The funeral for Mary's mom, Lisa was five weeks ago. Mary missed her mom dearly. Her dad appeared to be a rock, but she knew that his heart was broken when Lisa told him of her infidelity. Alex was in the process of selling everything they owned. He was planning on moving out of the city to enjoy his remaining years alone. As for Sam and Mary, their marriage had been strained to the breaking point. Gwinn took a lot of Mary's time. Sam busied himself at work. Still though the feeling that he did not know everything lingered.

It had been six months and Gwinn was able to start college. Mary was happy that some things were returning to normal. Mary worried about Sam, he was always on the computer. She prayed that Sam would return back to her, the way he was before the accident, before Mark came back into their lives. Sam spent a lot of time researching Mark. There was something about that guy that just didn't sit well with him. He found out that Mark was a doctor. He also discovered where Mark lived and that he was married, but divorced because of infidelity, on his part. He snooped through Mark's Facebook page and discovered pictures of his ex-wife. What stunned Sam so much, was that his ex-wife looked nearly identical to Mary, just younger. Now that he knew Mark, he had to figure out why Mark was a match to his daughter. For that information he had talk to a friend.

It was a Tuesday, Sam made his way to work. He had become obsessed with everything surrounding the accident and the test results from the hospital. Sam knew that John would know the answer. Sam and John had been friends since Sam hired him at the auto parts store as a night guard. Now John was the security manager for XYZ. Sam went to John's office, the sectary recognized Sam instantly and buzzed him in. John stood up and welcomed his friend in. "How are things Sam, I know you went through a lot of shit in the last year." John said. Sam, didn't give an immediate answer, which caught John off guard. "You ok, buddy?" Sam shook John's hand and sat down in a chair. "I'm above ground John, so I suppose I'm ok." John came around his desk and sat next to Sam, "I hope everything is ok at home? Is Gwinn ok?" John inquired. "Gwinn is fine John, I am here to ask a favor of you. I need you to do something for me off the books. I need you to find out everything about Mike, Mary and why I was not a match when Gwinn needed surgery." John leaned back in the seat, "Sam, I will do anything for you. Give me a couple of days and I will call you." Sam stood, shook his friends hand and said "Thank you, I won't forget this."

Sam worked the next couple of days in a clouded state. He worked, went to the gym, go home and repeat. It seemed like his life had no meaning anymore. Sam woke up early on Saturday morning. Sam made his way down stairs and poured himself a cup of coffee. Sam's phone began to buzz in his pocket, looking at the caller ID showed it was John, "Finally maybe I can get some answers." Sam thought. "Good morning buddy, hope I didn't wake you" John said. "I'm awake, John, what did you find out." "Let's meet up at the diner on 5th Avenue Sam, I need to talk to you in person about what I found out." Sam agreed, grabbed his jacket and walked out. Mary stood at the top of the stairs, she only heard one part of the conversation, but her mind raced with horrible visions.

Mary ran down stairs trying to catch Sam, but she was too late. She desperately wanted to find out what was going on with Sam. Sam had not even tried to have sex with her in the last six months. She was desperate to reconnect with her husband. Mary grabbed her phone to call Sam, when it went off with an incoming text. "Meet me at the Hilton on 5th avenue in 15 minutes, room 110 or I tell Sam all about our kids." There was no name on the caller ID, but Mary knew it was Mark. "What the fuck do I do now? This has to end now!" Mary thought.

Sam entered the dinner and took the booth next to the window. John came up a minute or two later and slide into the opposite side. "John did not look like he had good news", Sam thought. John looked at his friend, "Sam, I'm sorry, but his information is going to hurt. This Mark character is a quite the lady's man. He was in the Air Force as a doctor, he was forced to retire because he was having sex with multiple nurses junior in rank. In the military that is fraternization, and it is a serious offense. He was given the option to either retire or face court martial. He took the retirement. His wife filed for divorce and nearly bankrupted him. He also lost his ability to practice medicine, because when the divorce was in works he was caught by a husband feeling up his wife. After that he relocated to here and has been pretty quiet, except for the ordeal with your family. As for the reason you were not a match...you are not the father to the twins. That is the only possible answer according to the doctors I reached out to." Sam sat there taking in all the information. In the deepest part of his soul he already knew this answer. The information about Mark was surprising, but fell in line with what he was able to dig up. Sam thought about his daughters, his lovely, beautiful daughters where not his. Tears fell from his face.

John continued, "I also did some research on Mark's time of leaving and the pregnancy of Mary. Sam, it lines up. Mary had gotten pregnant with the twins around the time Mark left to go to basic training. I can't tell you he is the father, all I can say is the timing is right. Plus, their history in high school, it appears that he would be the most likely father to the twins. The only way to be certain is to either ask Mary or do a DNA test Sam. I am so sorry to tell you this." Sam composed himself, "It all fits, the twins were not his, and his life was ruined. He had raised kids that were born from an affair. An affair his wife kept from him". Sam looked out the window, the cars passing by, people going and coming. Sam thought were his life was heading. A particular car caught his eye, it was Mary's! "What the fuck is she pulling into the Hilton on a Saturday, Sam yelled. Sam jumped up and began to leave, John called out to him, "Don't do nothing stupid Sam. Ask her what happened before you go off half-cocked!" Sam heard the words, but it did not stop him. He had to find out why his wife was at the Hilton. John pulled out his phone, he had a very bad feeling about all this. He dialed 911......

Mary stood outside room 110. Her heart was pounding. One way or the other this had to end. The only way to end this shit is to confront Mark and tell Sam everything. Mary reached to knock on the door when it opened suddenly, Mark reached out and pulled her in. The force of Marks pull, caught Mary off guard, she tripped on something and landed on the floor. Mark reached down and pulled her up, twisted her around and pushed her down onto the bed. "Damn Mary, you still look fine, how does that pussy feel? I bet it is still good and tight just like I remember." Mary cried out as Mark pulled her dress up. She tried to fight him, but he was to strong. Mary felt her panties begin to rip. Mary cried out "Stop it, please stop it. I do not want this, please Mark stop I beg you!" Mary heard his zipper lower and felt his body press against hers. "Shut up bitch, you knew this was going to happen, why else would I call you for. You are just another piece of pussy to me. I might even try your ass hole this time. Remember Mary, you told me that was disgusting all those years ago, now I bet you have had that ass fucked numerous times by that small dicked husband of yours." Mary's head hurt, her body went limp and then everything faded to black.

Sam ran into the hotel and turned the corner. He looked to the left and saw nothing, he turned back toward the right and caught the glimpse of a woman pulled into a room. Sam ran, a door opened and a maid cart was pushed into the hall. Sam ran into it, spilling everything and making him fall. Sam quickly got up and proceeded to the room. The door was ajar, and he pushed it open. Sam saw his wife on the bed, Mark was behind her. His erect dick was inches away from going into his wife. Sam's mind went blank, the only thing he felt was anger. Sam jumped Mark from the back, Mark fell sideways, with his pants around his ankles caused him to be off balance. Sam's punches made contact with Mark's head, right behind the ear. Mark was out cold before his body hit the floor.

Sam looked at his unconcise wife laid across the edge of the bed. His anger left, he was scared that Mary was dead. He gently picked up her head and brushed the hair from her face. "Sir, lay the woman down and place your hands above your head" the voice echoed through the room. Sam turned and saw two police officers with their guns fixed on him. Sam laid his wife down, she began to come around, Mary whispered, "Sam, I'm so sorry." "Mary, just relax, the cops are here." The paramedics rushed in and took Mary to the ambulance. Sam and Mark was placed under arrest. As Sam and Mark was being led away, Sam saw John talking to the cops. "We will get them down to the station and we will get this sorted out", the cop told John. Sam was glad that he had friends that watched his back.

Mark was charged with attempted r@pe.. Sam was released a told not to leave the area till the full investigation was completed. Mary was discharged from the hospital. Alex picked her and brought her home. Alex pulled the car into the driveway next to Sam's truck. "Honey, why were you at that hotel room with that monster? Mary lowered her head and said, "Mark texted me and told me to meet him there or he was going to tell Sam something." Alex looked at his daughter, "There is more to this then you are saying. Where you having an affair with him?" Mary shot her head up, "Hell no, that son-of-a-bitch tried to r@pe me dad. I was definitely not having an affair." Alex looked at his daughter, "then I repeat my question, why where you there?" "It is a long story dad, I did have an affair with him years ago. I really need to be telling this to Sam, right now he is the most important person in this world. I need to tell him everything." Alex reached over and grabbed his daughters hand, "Baby, men respond to the type of news you are getting ready to tell Sam in different ways. Give him time and be completely honest. Some sins of the past come to light in the darkness hours." Mary knew what her dad was talking about. She prepared herself for the worst.

Mary walked into the house. All the lights were off. In the dining room sat her husband sipping on a whiskey. She walked over to Sam and sat next to him. Mary started, "Sam I want you to know that I love you with all my heart. I made a mistake years ago and have lived with that sin ever since. I have no excuse, we were newly married and I made a mistake by having an affair with Mark. I realized that there was no love involve. I got pregnant and I never told you that the twins are not yours. For this I will never forgive myself. The twins love you and only know you as their father. I will leave it up to you about where we go from here. Please know that in all the years we have been married I have never loved anyone but you. Yes, I made a mistake, but I never strayed again. I love my life with you, and I pray to god that you can forgive me."

Sam asked several questions and Mary answered them honestly. The truth hurt Sam severely. Sam left the house that night. He drove around town for hours. This day was the worst day of his life. He ended up parked in front of Alex's house. Alex answered the door "Thank god you and Mary are ok." Sam looked at his father-in-law, "Alex, Mary was not having an affair with Mark currently, but they did years ago. God, Alex, the twins are not mine." Sam collapsed down and began to cry like a new born. "How in the fuck could she do this to us? Why did he have to come back here? Alex, I don't know what to do." Alex, got Sam to sit in a chair and said, "Sam, you have always treated me with respect. I have always treated you like a son, so I am going to tell you a story, so please listen. Lisa had an affair years ago and confessed it to me on her death bed. She kept that secret for years. She said she was trying to protect me. I was so mad at her when she told me, that I dropped her hand and cried as she left this world. I would give anything to go back and relive that moment in time over again. She had an affair, it hurt, but I still love her and miss her so much. I will die soon and hopefully meet her again in the next life. Please Sam, think about what you want. Mary hurt you, but she has to life with that sin forever. If divorce is the answer, then be up front about it with her. Sam, I know for a fact that she loves you. Sometimes the sins of the past can be erased, you just have to work at it. Get counseling, talk to her and then make your decision."

Sam looked at his father in law. He could hardly believe that Lisa had an affair. It just didn't seem right. She was always so loving and helpful to them in their marriage. "Have you forgiven Lisa?" Sam asked. "Yes I have Sam. I believe her when she told me, it just hurt like hell then." Alex responded. "Thank you Alex. I do believe Mary. It happened so long ago, it's just the kids. How do I explain to them that I am not their dad?" "Son that is something that you and Mary need to discuss. Those kids love you. There is a lot more to raising two outstanding kids then getting a woman pregnant." Sam understood what Alex was saying, he loved his daughters, they were his daughters damn it. He may not have gotten Mary pregnant, but those kids was his. Sam got up and hugged his father in law. "I got to go do some thinking Alex, thank you for your advice."

The road was hard for Sam and Mary. They talked for days, but Sam was still having trouble with all this. The twins were called home from college and were told that Sam was not their biological father. The twins took it hard. They cursed their mom for cheating on dad.

Epilogue: Mark was found guilty for attempted r@pe. When the judge learned of his other incidents and Mary and I's testimony, he threw the book at him, 10 years with no chance of parole. The road to recovery for Sam and Mary was rocky. With the help of counseling their marriage did survive. The twins did forgive their mom in time. The only thing Sam knew for sure about the future was that he loved his wife and twins. Sometimes the sins of the past reappear, it matters how you respond to those sins that determines your worth.
