After The Accident

After The Accident By DG HearAs with many of my stories, this story could have gone in a number of different categories. I want to give a big ‘Thank You' to my two editors who make my stories what they are, LadyCibelle and Techsan. Their encouragement, insight and editing prowess makes my story a much better read.
I've read hundreds and hundreds of stories about cheating spouses. I used to put it all into the fantasy category of my mind. I always thought that it was the man that mainly cheated on the wife but I don't believe it anymore. From my own experiences I believe that women have affairs as much as men do nowadays.
Men seem to want a piece of ass, to put it bluntly. The old wham-bam-thank-you-Ma'am type sex that the movies used to have in them. The men would go to a strip joint of some type, get horny, shell out a few bucks and then get laid and afterwards go home to the little housewife.
In today's society, the men seem to screw their secretary or any other female who is willing to spread her legs. They still go home to the little housewife afterwards.
Now, time to get some slack from the ladies. Before I go into this, I want it to be understood that all women are not like this. I honestly believe that there are a lot of monogamous, faithful wives out there who have no intention of ever cheating on their husbands.
I do believe the number of faithful wives is declining. I guess that's why I'm afraid of marriage. I don't want to fall in love and then have my heart torn out by a cheating wife.
I am now a forty-two year old man who has never been married and here is my story.
For the record, my name is Henry B. Hawkins. I live in Ohio but I travel the United States as a truck driver. I own my own rig and am independent and choose which companies I'll haul for. I became a truck driver when I turned twenty-nine but I'll get into that part of my life later.
I'll start this story with my life back in the old high school days. I was a jock and played almost every sport I could. I was in great physical shape and still am today. I lifted weights and did a lot of exercise to stay that way. I still have the six pack abs but, of course, because of age my body has had a lot of changes.
I'm not bragging here - well, maybe a little - but I was the stud jock. I dated a lot of girls and got lucky, both because of my physique and playing sports. I took my shirt off most every chance I got because I was proud of my body and I knew the girls liked to see me shirtless. Even though I dated a lot of girls, like most guys, there was one special girl. Joanie was that girl. She was the first one that I ever had sex with. I've now been with well over a thousand women, maybe even thousands. I lost count many years ago.
I went to college on the west coast. The name of the college isn't important. I had a partial football scholarship. The school paid for all my study courses and books and some of my living expenses. Being so far away from home I found out I needed more money to survive after my first semester.
Some of the other jocks asked me if I could dance. I laughed wondering why. I had taken dancing lessons as a kid when I was about seven years old. I took them for about three years but felt funny being one of the only boys in the class so I quit. I wasn't about to tell these guys about that part of my life.
"Seriously, Henry, can you dance? Don't get me wrong here, but you have a fabulous physique," said Rob.
I looked at Rob and Bill standing next to him. They were both great physical specimens but I knew they liked the ladies as much as I did.
"I can dance some. I may not be the best dancer in the world but I can move my feet," I laughed. "What's this about, Rob?"
"I know you are looking to make a few bucks. Bill and I are bother dancers. We do different gigs and bring in some pretty heavy bread. Have you heard of the Chippendale's Male Review?"
"You guys are Chippendale's?"
"No, but we are part of a group of twenty guys who do the same thing. We dance in smaller clubs that can't afford the big guys. We also pick up a lot of small gigs, you know like, bridal showers, and birthday parties and other events. The amount of dancing we do depends on our schedules. Are you interested in a tryout?"
"What about the women? I take it you guys get a lot of dates?"
Bill laughed. "Henry, you'll get more pussy than you can ever imagine. After most gigs we have parties in our rooms and the women come up and we party. They pay us money while we're doing the gig and then when we go up to the room it's party time. You can have them alone or we all share the women. What do you say? Want to try out? One phone call is all it takes. Julie, our agent, takes care of everything."
Damn, I couldn't believe what I was hearing; pussy galore and money too. Rob made the call and I had an interview with Julie the following day. She was an older, good looking, woman in her forties. I found out later that she was divorced and had a daughter that was still in high school.
She was all business. She put on some music and told me to start dancing. I started out kind of shy and she told me to gyrate more and to move my ass. She wanted more pelvic thrusts; she said it brought in more money.
When I finished dancing she told me she liked what she saw and sat down and explained the rules. She had contracts and everything to make it legal. I was twenty at the time and it bothered her some. I had to sign a form stating that I would not drink alcoholic beverages due to my age. She gave me a couple of tapes to listen to and told me to practice dancing to them. They had a gig the following weekend. It was a pretty good size one and would be easier on me since she would have about ten guys in the review.
I was excited when the time came. I was nervous and had some stage fright. We all had some rather small costumes and we were to strip down to pretty much a g-string with kind of a cock-sac attached so our jewels wouldn't fall out. I was the only guy who wasn't twenty-one yet so I got razzed quite a bit because of it. We all had our bodies oiled down so we would glisten. Julie told me I would need to spend more time in a tanning bed. Tony and Troy both laughed about that. They were two of the black guys who came to dance at this gig.
I was the eighth guy up in the review. Julie wanted me to watch the other dancers so I would get an idea of what to do. I was introduced as the newest dancer when the time came. Of course they didn't call me Henry, for obvious reasons. A strip dancer named Henry just didn't fill the bill.
"Ladies, we have a very special treat for you tonight. Our newest and youngest dancer is making his debut tonight. Let's put those hands together and welcome the new guy on the review: Billy Bob, The Charmer."
Billy Bob, The Charmer - where did they get that name? I guess the DJ just made it up. I ran out on the stage and yelled, "Yahoo, ladies" and just started shaking my ass. Within a couple of minutes I was down to my g-string and pushing my pelvis at every woman out there. The money, mostly dollar bills and a few fives were put in a box on the stage in front of me. They didn't want any touching during our performance so this is the way they did it.
I couldn't believe how great it felt being the center of attention and all these women screaming for me. I shook my ass for all I was worth and did so many pelvic thrusts, I almost dislocated my back. As I left the stage the women were still screaming for me. Damn, I never felt so good, but the best part was yet to come.
In this particular bar/lounge there was an after party. There was a twenty dollar charge to attend the after party. Of course most women headed out but quite a few stayed for the party. The doors were locked. Once you left you couldn't get back in. The lounge had rooms upstairs for the entertainers to use. The patrons who were all women knew it was mingle with the dancers' time. Bill told me in advance a lot of what to expect. I really thought he was exaggerating about how wild it might get until they dimmed the lights and put some soft music on.
A woman came up to me and asked me to dance with her. She pushed her body as tight up against me as humanly possible. I got an instant hard-on. I asked her if she wanted to go upstairs and she told me she just wanted to sit at the table with me.
I looked around and all the guys were with different women. Some were there with two and three of them, dancing and rubbing themselves all over these females. The smell of sex was in the air. I took my gal over to a table, kind of in the back of the room and sat in a chair. I couldn't believe what happened next. Instead of sitting in a chair next to me, this gal got on her knees between my legs and pulled out my cock and started sucking on it. While she was sucking me off another woman came over and asked if she could taste it. Apparently these two women knew each other as they took turns sucking me off.
I remember saying, "Ladies, I'm about to come."
The first woman said, "I want it" and put the head of my cock in her mouth as I shot my load. It was more than she expected and it was coming out the side of her mouth.
Her friend said, "Let me suck the rest out of him" and that's exactly what she did. I was still having small spasms as the second woman sucked me dry.
The night went on and I did have sex with another woman later. I was in awe for my first time outing with all this sex going on all around me. I had never been in that type of situation: women coming up to me and asking for sex. I figured the booze, and I did see some weed being smoked, made a lot of the women horny. To my surprise, the majority of these women had on wedding rings. Even though I was only twenty, I had a hard time understanding why these women would do this. Go outside of their marriage and attend fuck parties. It was something I have never been able to understand.
------------------------------------
I continued to play sports in college but I was usually on second string. I did give it my all, but my job - the dancing gigs - took a lot out of me. On my twenty-first birthday I called my parents and told them that I was dropping out of school. I know it bothered them but I explained to them that I liked the entertainment business and that I was making a great deal of money. When I told my dad how much money I was pulling in per night he could hardly comprehend it. I was making more in three hours of dancing then he made in a week.
They were disappointed that I wasn't getting a degree but said that they were behind me in whatever I chose to do. I contacted my promoter, Julie, and told her I was willing to work full time in the business.
I need to say a couple of things about Julie. She was almost like a mother to us dancers. To the best of my knowledge she had never had sex with any of the dancers and she never attended an after party. She handled our finances and was the agent for the business and was great at what she did. If we ever had a problem, she was always there for us.
I had now been in the business for about a year. After about the first three months, which was a kind of a break-in period, I was starting to excel in my performances. Now it was nothing for me to strip in front of these women. I can't explain the power that comes over a guy when women are screaming for him while he is on stage. The after parties were great. We didn't have them in every town, only the larger establishments.
In the smaller lounges we would pass out a card to a woman if she seemed interested in us. We would meet after the performances ended and go to our room or to a place of their choice. I couldn't get over how much these women wanted sex with us. It was like they were fucking their favorite movie star or something.
The private parties were something else again. We didn't make near the money that we did at the big gigs but they sure were fun. Usually there would be two of us guys. We got a couple of hundred dollars each to do a private party depending on the size of it. Of course they were much more personable and a lot of feely, touchy type stuff went on.
Bridal showers and birthday parties were a lot of fun. These women would get to drinking and want to have sex. I mean women of all ages. I have been with women eighteen to seventy-two. I have had sex with more brides before their wedding than I care to count.
I need to say something here. These guys that say all pussies are alike are full of shit. I've seen so many pussies in my life and they have been every color from light pink to an almost dark brown. My first black lady's pussy was the nicest shade of pink. I remember it because I was so surprised when I spread her lips before diving in with my tongue, but again, that's another story.
I was making anywhere from fifteen hundred to three thousand dollars a week. Back then that was a huge amount of money. I would send my parents five hundred dollars a week to help them out. I saved some money and of course spent the rest. Our troop of guys traveled from California to the Midwest. We stayed in some nice places and were treated like movie stars.
I guess looking back at all the fun times and all the women we were with we would be considered gigolos or even male prostitutes by a lot of people. It wasn't true. Honestly, we were just a bunch of guys that enjoyed dancing and sex. Our jobs or livelihood let us have all the nice things. We never forced any women to have sex with us. If anything, we were forced now and then to perform in the sexual department when we weren't, let's say, a hundred per cent due to a long night of dancing and sexual activity. Thank God we still had fingers and tongues. We wanted our customers or should I say patrons to be satisfied. We had a lot of return visitors when we went through a town or city.
I want to mention one time when I was near my hometown performing. It will help explain why I feel the way I do about marriage. I was twenty seven at the time and my younger sister found out about our dancing engagement and she and about seven of her friends drove to watch me and my buds perform. It bothered me a little since I knew these women and dancing in front of my sister wasn't something I was looking forward too. Beth told me they came in three cars. She and a couple of her friends promised their husbands that they would be home that night.
One of the girls that came with the group was my old girlfriend Joanie. She was married and had a child now. She was still as cute as a button. I'm not sure if I mentioned it but my sister Beth was married also. She had just had her second child.
Before you get any ideas, after the performance I went with my sister and a couple of her friends out to a late night dinner bar. My sister did not, I repeat, did not cheat on her husband. I was glad of that.
This was a somewhat smaller gig where the after party took place in our rooms for any gals that were invited. Of course I went out with my sister so I didn't invite anyone up to our room. I really thought about Joanie and our first time together. I stood on stage in front of her and shook my ass. She was blushing. I wanted her to see that I really was good at what I did. I don't know why, probably some kind of ego problem since she was my first real girl friend.
After I said goodbye to my sister and her friends I headed back to our motel room. I could hear from the hallway that the private party was still going on. I opened the door and there on the bed was Joanie being fucked royally by Tony, my black friend. She didn't even notice me when I walked in.
I was stunned to say the least. I know I have been with hundreds and hundreds of married women but this was the first time that it was someone that I knew personally. Tony had no idea who Joanie was. He looked over at me and smiled.
"Billy Bob, you want a ride? I'm almost finished here, just a few more seconds," he said as he shot a load into a condom. That was one thing we tried to do most every time. We had way too much sex to take chances of catching a disease or getting some gal pregnant.
Joanie looked over at me and my heart fell. I even saw a tear in her eyes. I had no reason to judge people. After all the women I have had sex with and so many of them married. It's just that Joanie was from my hometown and was my first. I had to wonder that if we would have ever gotten married would she have cheated on me like she was doing to her husband now.
I looked over at Tony. "No, Bro, I'm kind of tired right now. I think I'll go in one of the other rooms and get some rest. We have a long drive tomorrow."
"Suit yourself but she is one fine piece of ass. I'm the fourth one she took care of tonight," smiled Tony.
I left and went to another room. About a half hour later there was a knock on my door. I opened it and it was Joanie. "I'm sorry, Henry. I don't know why I did it. It was just something that happened. You're not going to tell my husband or your sister, are you?"
I didn't even invite her in. "Joanie, it was a shock to see you like that. I can't judge you; after all, I do that all the time. The big difference is that I'm not married. I'm not cheating on anyone. I just feel so disappointed in you. I often wondered that if we would have gotten married would you have cheated on me? Now I have my answer. No, I won't tell anyone about what you did. Your secret is safe with me."
I closed the door and went to bed. Funny how it has to happen to you to know how bad it feels. I knew I could never get married. There are a lot of good women out there who are faithful wives but I thought Joanie was one of them.
The following year my whole life changed. I was in an auto accident and broke my hip. I was in the hospital for over a month and I would have to have physical therapy God knows how long. My dancing days were over.
I walked into Julie's office using a cane. We sat down and had a nice talk. She offered me a job as a consultant and told me I could be a driver for the guys. I explained to her that it just wouldn't work out. I couldn't just sit there in a chair and watch all the guys dancing without being a part of it.
Julie had tears in her eyes. I knew she understood. She asked me if I had any plans and I told her I thought about being a truck driver. I was so used to traveling and seeing the country. She wished me the best and told me to keep in touch. I knew that her daughter was now married and moved back east. I never did get a chance to meet her. Julie told me she was thinking of getting out of the business herself to spend more time with her grandchildren.
I gave her a big hug and left her office. It was really a sad moment in my life. I said goodbye to all the guys and wished them the best. They were a pretty decent group of friends. I had to laugh when they told me that if I ever attended any of their gigs that I was invited to the after parties. I shook hands with all of them and headed back to Ohio.
Here I was a man of twenty nine, pretty much starting over with a bum hip. I did go to truck driving school and got my CDL license. I used what money I had saved and bought me a rig. I was only going to do over the road driving. It was my way of being totally independent and still see the world. Besides, it was a great paying job. It was lonely at times but I never had much trouble finding companionship.
I will tell you that, at this point of my life, I tried to stay away from married women. There were enough single and divorced women out there that I didn't want to possibly be the reason for breaking up any more marriages. That incident with seeing Joanie really made me think. I decided I was a better person than that and tried to live accordingly.
Throughout the following years I drove my truck across country and maybe spent a night or two in a particular city and enjoyed the sights as well as the company of a few of the ladies. Sex to me was important but since I had been around the block so many times, it wasn't the number one factor in my life anymore. I really wanted to find that one special woman but I was afraid.
My sister Beth was always trying to fix me up with one of her divorced friends. They were nice women and I enjoyed their company. I had sex with most of them but was afraid to get serious about starting a life with them. The dancing made me paranoid that if I got married my wife would probably cheat on me. It was just a fact that I couldn't get over. I had been with way too many married women to think differently. I will say that I do believe I could be monogamous.
The years passed and I dated but just stayed away from getting serious about any woman. It was crazy; I wanted a wife that I could believe in and trust but my past just wouldn't allow it. Every time I got close to a woman I took a long haul job so I wouldn't have to face my own fears.
One time when I was home I talked with Beth about marriage. She was my sister and I was pretty sure she would be honest with me.
"Beth, have you ever cheated on Lloyd?" Lloyd was my brother in-law.
"Boy, that's a strange question coming from you, the man of a thousand women."
"I'm serious, Beth, that's my problem with women. I want to find that special girl for me but I'm so afraid of her cheating on me. I don't care about a woman's past but I would be very concerned about her future relationships if we were married."
"Okay, Henry, I'll try to be as honest as possible with you. I have never cheated on Lloyd. I never even thought about it. I will tell you that when we would go out and men would hit on me, it felt good. Some even tried to touch me but I never told Lloyd. Not unless the men got out of hand. Most women are able to control advances. If we told our husbands every time a man made advances to us we would never have anytime to talk about anything else," she laughed.
"You know, I've been with many married women. What about them? Why are they so different than you?"
"It's a choice a woman makes, just like a man making the same choice. Some choose to cheat while others feel it's wrong and don't do it. Some women feel their husbands don't show them enough attention and they go where they can find that attention. In most cases it's from men that are just like them. They might be happy during a short period of time but in the long run it usually ruins their marriage. I just happen to be married to a man I love and he loves me. Besides, I told him if he ever cheated on me, I'd kill him," she laughed again.
"I wish I could find someone that feels the way you do. I'm just afraid that there are fewer and fewer women like you out there, Sis."
"They're out there, Henry. I guess they say about forty percent of married people have affairs, so that gives you sixty percent that are monogamous. See, the odds are still in your favor."
"Sis, not to change the subject but have you seen Joanie lately? I probably haven't seen her in ten years now. Probably since that time you all came to the club to watch me dance," I smiled.
"Believe it or not I saw her last year. She and her husband live in Akron now. They have three kids. They are a pretty nice family. About six years ago, Joanie told me they almost got divorced."
"Divorced? Cheating, I bet you," I said to Beth.
"You're right. Joanie found out her husband was having an affair and it about ended the marriage. They separated for about six months until Joanie took him back. She forgave him and they started anew. I remember when she was your old girlfriend. You two made a nice couple but I didn't think either of you were ready for a serious relationship. You had to sow those wild oats. Joanie did a lot of dating before getting married."
I didn't tell my sis about Joanie's gang bang. What purpose would that serve and besides, I always tried to keep my promises. I figured that's why Joanie took her husband back. She was no better than he was in the cheating department. He just got caught.
-----------------------------------
I decided to drive east for awhile. I had seen so much of the west coast throughout the years. I was headed through Pennsylvania and stopped to eat at a truck stop. One of the nicest waitresses came to my table. Her name tag said Lil.
"You must be new around here. I don't think I've ever seen you here before. What can I get you?' She just smiled and waited for an answer.
I just looked at her. Something pulled at my heart strings and I had no idea why. She was a very good looking woman that I would guess to be in her late thirties. She had the most beautiful and sincere smile and a demeanor that felt so real. Her dimples just made me want to look at her. Why was I feeling this way? Maybe I was thinking too much about finding the right woman. When she said, "what can I get you?" My mind wanted to say so many things but I was almost tongue tied.
"What would you suggest?" I asked. "You know the food better than anyone."
She smiled back. "Let me get you the steak special. I'm sure you will like it."
"I know I will if you suggested it," I said. "I'm sorry; I know that sounded like a come-on and I didn't want it to be. There is just something about you and I don't know what it is. I really would like to get to know you better. There I go again. I'm sorry."
"I'll just take it all as a compliment, and if you want to get to know me better, you'll just have to come in more often," she said as she walked away with a big smile on her face.
I couldn't believe the way I acted. Almost like a kid trying to pick up a date. Damn, I'd be lucky if she even talked to me now.
She came back in a few minutes with my coffee. "Your dinner will be ready in a few minutes. You know what my name is. What's yours?" she said with that big beautiful smile.
"I'm Henry. I have my own truck and thought I would start hauling east for awhile. After seeing you, I wish I would have started years ago. Damn it! I'm sorry; I keep saying the wrong things."
"It's okay, Henry, I get hit on a lot and I know you mean it as a compliment. Maybe we'll see you here a lot more often?" She smiled again as she went back to wait on her other customers.
She stopped back and brought me my dinner and later asked about dessert. I told her I had to hit the road but anytime I traveled east, I would be sure to stop. She gave me that big beautiful dimpled smile and I was on my way.
I was trying to remember if she was wearing a wedding ring. I was so engrossed with her looks and personality that I never checked it out. I continued east to make my delivery. All I could think of while I was driving was this woman, this waitress. What made her so fascinating to me? I guess I would have to find out the next time I went east.
I looked for a return trip that would come back through Pittsburgh but there were none available. I had to settle for going to upstate New York. It was nice country but I didn't see another Lil.
It was three weeks before I got another run through Pittsburgh. I stopped back at the truck stop and Lil remembered me.
"Hi Henry, welcome back. I hoped you would come back through. What can I get you today?"
"Just bring me your special or anything else you suggest." Well, at least I didn't mess up too bad this time.
When she came back through I looked at her hands. She was wearing a wedding ring. She saw me staring at her ring.
"Are you married, Henry?" she asked.
"No, and I was kind of hoping you weren't either. I wanted to get to know you better and I don't try to date married women."
She looked sadly at me. "I don't tell most truckers this but my husband was killed three years ago in an auto accident. I wear the ring to remember him and so I don't get hit on as much."
"I'm sorry, Lil, both for the loss of your husband and the way I've been talking to you. I really did want to get to know you better but didn't want to make a bad impression. There is just something about you, like I've known you for a long time. Maybe, someday would you like to go to dinner or a movie?"
"I'm afraid I don't know you well enough right now, Henry. I'm sorry but please keep coming in. Who knows what the future holds?"
I did go through Pennsylvania at least once a month and always stopped in to see Lil. I tried to stop in at slower hours and she would stop and have a cup of coffee with me. I remember telling her that I hope she didn't get into trouble taking a break and talking to me.
"Your boss or at least the cook keeps looking at me. I love talking to you, that's the main reason I stop here but I don't want you to lose your job or get in trouble for sitting with me."
Lil laughed. "Henry, no chance of losing my job. The older man that keeps staring at you is my stepfather. He and my mother own the restaurant. So, I'm pretty sure my job is safe."
The following month when I stopped by Lil wasn't there. Another waitress, who was nice, waited on me. I saw the cook in back. He brought out my dinner and asked if he could talk to me.
"Henry, isn't it? I'm Ralph and I did want to talk to you, man to man. Lil likes you. I thought I should tell you a little about her family before you get too involved with her. I know she's thirty-six and can make her own decisions but I would hate to see her get hurt. She's been through a lot the last couple of years and just starting to get her life straightened out."
"Ralph, she told me about the loss of her husband."
"There's a lot more than just the loss of her husband. She has two kids. A daughter who's twelve and a son who is fourteen and in a wheelchair. He lost one leg above the knee and is still in therapy. He lost it in the accident that he and his dad were in. Lil has a lot to deal with. Brad, her son, isn't trying to help himself out. He wanted to play sports and of course now he doesn't even try to wear the artificial leg and it's a lot to deal with for Lil and her daughter Amber."
"Ralph, I don't know if you noticed, but I walk with a limp. I broke a hip a number of years ago. I thought my life was over. But, Thank God to a good woman who was my agent and a family who stood behind me, I was able to get my mind on straight and go ahead with my life. I'd like to talk to Brad. I played sports also and there is a world outside of playing sports. Maybe if I told him my story it would help," I suggested.
"I think that would be good. What have we got to lose? The next time you come through here let us know ahead of time and I'll introduce you to Brad."
"Don't forget to tell Lil I was here. There's something special about her and I really do care for her. The last thing I would want to do is hurt her or her family. You have my word on it. My dad told me back when I was just a kid that a man is only as good as his word."
"Your dad was right. I'll tell her you stopped by, and I know what you mean about being special. It's the way I felt about her mother when I first met her some years back."
It was a good month later when I made the call and told Ralph when I expected to be coming by. When I got there I asked for a table away from everyone else. Lil brought Brad over in a wheelchair. He didn't even have on his artificial leg. Lil looked up at me hoping I would be able to help her son.
"Henry, this is my son, Brad. Brad, this is a friend of mine, Henry. He asked if he could talk to you."
"Mom," said Brad. "I don't mean to be disrespectful, but don't you think I've talked to enough people. I lost my leg and I know I have to live with it. I can't do any of the things that other guys do and I'll have to deal with it. I'm sorry, sir, but there's nothing you can tell me that will bring my leg back and make me a whole person again," said Brad.
I looked over at Lil who had tears in her eyes. I know she was hurting just as much as her son. "Lil, if you don't mind I would like to talk with Brad alone for a few minutes."
She smiled and walked away. "Brad, I'm not here to baby you and tell you you're going to grow back a leg."
Brad looked mad. "It isn't fair. I was just a kid; I didn't do anything wrong. Now I have to spend the rest of my life crippled. It just isn't fair. I wanted to play football, maybe even get a scholarship. Who knows, maybe I could have made the pros. Why are you staring at me? Aren't you going to tell me everything is going to be alright? It's just going to take time?"
"No, Brad, I'm going to tell you the truth. Life sucks sometimes. Life isn't fair. When we come into the world we aren't promised that everything is going to go just the way we want it to. Everything is not dealt out the same for everyone. I'm going to tell you my story."
"Why are you doing this?"
"To help you, your mom and your sister and even your grandparents out. You see, you have to deal with the loss of your leg. What you don't seem to realize is so does your family. They're the ones who have to hear you whine and cry and listen to you moan about your situation. What happened to you is sad, but it happened. You have to get up and go on with your life. Something similar happened to me. I didn't lose my leg but I lost my hopes and dreams and I had to deal with it."
"You look alright to me. What happened?" asked Brad.
"I was a teenager and I played sports, just like you want to do. I made ‘All State' in football and went to college in California. I thought I was really good but I couldn't get past second string, so I gave up and decided to become a dancer."
"But, you got to play football. I can't," spoke Brad.
"Who said you can't play? Granted you probably won't win a scholarship but you can wear a prosthetic device and try out. You'll have to first learn to walk and then maybe jog. Eventually you can learn to run. Will it be harder for you than anyone else? Hell, yes, it will! But you can still try out. You can play baseball, golf and swimming and bowling. It's all yours for the taking, but you have to want it bad enough to try."
"So, what happened to you? I will admit you got me interested."
"I danced professionally. Look, don't tell your mom about this. She doesn't know yet and I want to tell her myself."
"Okay, I won't tell. So, what happened? Did you dance on TV?"
"No, I was in an ‘All Male Revue', you know, stage dancing. I loved it, I was good and it was what I wanted to do for many years to come. The money was fantastic and I met a lot of different people."
"You mean girls, don't you, Henry? You were a stripper and met lots of girls."
"Easy now, Brad, we're not going into detail here," we both smiled. "The thing is I loved what I was doing and making beaucoup bucks doing it. Then one day I was in an auto accident and broke my hip. Instantly, in a flash my life as I knew it was over. No more stage, no more lights, no more dancing, my future plans all went up in smoke. I walk with a limp and sometimes use a walking stick."
"So, what did you do? You drive a truck now, don't you?"
"First I was like you. I blamed the world and God and anyone I could for doing this to me. My parents and friends stood by me. They listened to me complain day after day and did what they could to help me. My agent was a wonderful woman who helped me pay off the hospital debts and even offered me alternative work. All these people stood behind a twenty-nine year old man who had to start his life over. You see, Brad, they were in pain too. They were in mourning for me.
"Your mom and sister are in mourning for you. If it would have been your mom or sister who had lost their leg, how would you feel? What would you do to help them? Would you close them out of your life? Think about it, Brad. You have a family that is there to help you, but you have to help yourself first. Put on that artificial leg and learn to walk, then jog and then run. It won't be easy, but you will find out that you can do almost anything if you put your mind to it."
"People will probably laugh at me hobbling along."
"Is that what you do when you see someone with a disability? Do you laugh at them?" I asked Brad.
"Of course not!"
"So why do you feel everyone is going to laugh at you? Granted there will be a few assholes out there, but the majority of people will be rooting for you. I can't make you stop feeling sorry for yourself. You're the only one who can do that. You have to take the necessary steps to move forward. I know you can do it if you want it bad enough. Now what you say we have a couple of burgers, your treat," I laughed.
I called Lil over and told her that Brad and I were hungry and Brad was buying me lunch. We all laughed as Lil gave her son a big hug.
After I left, I thought about Brad and Lil. I hoped he would at least try and walk. When I got home I told my sister about Lil and her family.
"Do you really like this woman Henry?" asked Beth.
"Yes, but I don't know what to tell her about my dancing past. What if she won't go out with me? I really want a relationship with her. I just feel she's might be the one."
"What about your phobia about her cheating on you. Have you given it any thought?"
"Yes, I'm sure she would never do it. If we got together I would want to talk to her about it. Beth, I really, really care for her."
"Henry, you're a good man, you really are. If she is half the woman that you say she is then you will make a wonderful couple."
It was over a month before I got back to the restaurant. I had a run to make going west. Too bad, I had to put off seeing Lil again. I could hardly wait for my next trip east. I finally got a trip to Pennsylvania.
The minute I walked in the restaurant Lil came up to me and gave me a hug.
"What was that for? Not that I'm complaining but I've been trying to get one of those for over six months now," I smiled.
"It's for talking to Brad. He's trying; he wears the artificial leg all the time now and is walking with a walker. I want to thank you so much," replied Lil.
"Does that mean you'll go out with me?" I laughed.
Lil stared at me for what seemed like minutes but I knew was only seconds. "Call me the next time you're coming through and we'll plan something."
I was as happy as could be. I looked back toward the kitchen and Ralph waved a ‘hello' at me. I was in heaven. I sat down and ate my dinner; Lil hugged me one more time before I left.
I was really feeling good now. I finally got a date with a woman I really cared about. I know this may seem stupid to a lot of guys who've only had sex with a few women and can't understand the way I feel. Throughout my life, sex was good. Sometimes it was really great, but I never had a loving feeling. Let me try and give you some kind of a comparison analogy.
I remember one time there was this famous comedian who said he was sitting on a nude beach watching all the naked bodies walk by. At the beginning of the day he had to put a towel over his lap to hide his excitement, but as the day wore on he got used to the naked women and didn't pay as much attention to them. Until, a woman with a low cut bathing suit bent over in front of him. He strained his neck trying to get a look at her breasts hidden beneath her bathing suit.
It was the way I felt about women up to that time. I enjoyed my time with them but I was looking for that one special one and I believed it to be Lil. I knew deep down that I was falling in love with her.
I wasn't able to make it back to Pittsburgh for the next month. I had already agreed to make two hauls out west, the complete opposite direction of Lil. I decided since I was driving out west that I would try to locate Julie, my friend and agent. After talking with Brad, I realized how much Julie helped me out during those trying days after my accident. She was there for me and I don't know if I ever properly thanked her for it.
I went to where her offices last were and was told that she had sold her business and didn't leave any forwarding address. She had left a number of years ago. I was down a little about not being able to thank her. Sometimes in life we just wait too long to say "Thank you" to people who have helped us. It's what happened in this case.
Over a month had passed and I called the truck stop and asked for Lil.
"Lil speaking. Can I help you?" came the beautiful voice through the phone.
"Yes, you can," I said, "My name is Henry, and I would like to take you out next Friday night on my way back through Pennsylvania."
"Henry! I thought you forgot about me."
"Never! You're in my mind most every waking moment," I answered. "I have a run to Virginia and I thought I'd stop on my way back through and see if you still wanted to go on that date?"
I hoped I wasn't throwing too much sentiment out there. I really didn't know how strongly she felt about me. I didn't want her to think I was some kind of stalker or, even worse, a pervert. At the same time I felt I had to try and hold my cool. Damn, this dating is a lot harder than I ever remembered.
"Virginia? Henry, you don't go through Pittsburgh on your way back from Virginia. Even I know that."
"I do. It's the only trip going east with the companies I deal with in the next couple of weeks. I know it's out of the way but I'm willing to come back that way. What's a few hundred miles when you want to see a friend?"
"Okay, come by around five or six and I'll come out to meet you. We can take my car on our so-called date. I'll find somewhere to take you," she laughed.
"I'll be there! See you Friday."
----------------------------
I hurried on my trip back from Virginia. I went two hundred miles out of my way back from Virginia to Pittsburgh. I didn't care if I had to come back from Florida. I was going to be there. I stopped at a motel/truck stop and rented a shower. I cleaned up and put on a pair of nice trousers and a decent shirt. I even brought along a sport coat in case I needed it.
This was so weird, a man of my age being so nervous about taking out a woman, but then again I knew in my heart, she was special.
I pulled up to the truck stop and parked my truck in the back of the lot. I locked it after getting out and I saw Lil come out the door toward me. She was still dressed in her waitress outfit. She looked nice but of course I was so pessimistic that I expected the worse.
She came up to me and gave me a hug. "Are you ready to go? Did you do all that spiffing up for me? You look handsome," she laughed. "I hope you don't mind if I stop at my house to change my clothes. I'm always wearing waitress clothes and would like for you to see me in something else."
"Whatever you want to do, waitress or dress clothes or nothing at all, I don't care. I just want to be with you. Oh, shit, I did it again. I'm sorry; sometimes I say things before I think."
"Henry, I'm going out with you because I like you. Would you just take it easy and don't try so hard."
"Lil, there's some things about me I need to tell you..."
"No, Henry, not tonight. I don't want to hear about your past and I don't want to discuss mine. You're the first date I've had in three years and I want to just enjoy it. I picked out a movie and then maybe dinner and a little dancing. If we hit it off, then I'll hear what you want to tell me about your sordid past," she laughed again.
She stopped by her house. It was really a nice place in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. She pulled up in the drive and told me that there was someone who wanted to meet me. As we entered the door, her twelve year old daughter greeted us.
"Amber, this is Henry; Henry, this is the sweetest girl a mother could ask for, Amber."
"Hi there, Sir. Mom talks about you a lot."
"Amber, he doesn't want to hear about that. Anyway, I'm going to change. Talk about school or something; I'll only be a few minutes."
"So, Amber, what grade are you in and what do you want to be when you grow up."
"You're funny Henry. All grown-ups ask the same questions when they don't know what to say, so I'll give you my standard answer. Right now I just want to enjoy my life as a girl almost thirteen. I don't have any future plans but I like to cook with Grandpa-Ralph, so maybe I'll be a chef. I like dancing. Were you really a dancer, Henry?"
I choked. Who told her that? Brad must have told her about my past. "Well, yes, I danced for a few years but I don't think we'll discuss it. I drive a big semi now. Would you like to go for a ride in it someday?" I said, trying to change the subject.
"I've never rode in a big truck; that would be neat."
"What would be neat?" asked Lil coming into the room.
"Henry said he would take me for a ride in his truck someday. Wow, Mom, you look beautiful, even sexy," smiled Amber.
"Why, thank you, sweetheart," replied Lil.
I looked at Lil; she looked so beautiful. She had on a silky red and black dress that came down about three inches above her knees. Her hair was down around her shoulders and she looked like an angel to me.
"Say something, Henry. This is where you're supposed to say something nice about Mom."
"I'm at a loss for words. I really am. She is the most gorgeous woman I've seen in a long time."
"Henry, you don't need to overdo it. If you think I look nice, it's good enough for me," replied a smiling Lil.
"I'm sorry, but I'm not overdoing it. You are a very beautiful woman and I'm just not the best with words. You truly are an angel."
Lil went back in the bedroom to get her purse. Amber looked at me, "Thanks for taking Mom out tonight. I've never seen her this happy in years and, yes, I agree with you. Mom's as close to an angel as anyone here on earth."
Lil came back into the room. "What are you two talking about now?" she asked.
"Just angels and stuff, Mom. Have a good time and don't stay out too late," replied a smiling Amber.
"Yes, Dear, Brad should be home from therapy in about a half hour. If you have any problems, call grandma."
"Mom, I'm almost thirteen. I'll be fine. Go have some fun for a change. It was nice meeting you, Henry. Take good care of my mom," she said with a big grin on her face.
Lil handed me her car keys and I opened the door for her and couldn't help but notice her slender yet muscular legs when she got into the car. She glanced up at me and gave kind of a quirky smile.
We talked a little about where we might be going as I headed to the movies. She picked out a new comedy that just came out and asked me if it was alright with me. Of course I just wanted to be with her and would go anywhere she wanted.
It turned out the movie was really funny. It was so good to see her laugh. We shared our popcorn and each had a beverage. We were both smiling when we left the theater. I asked her to pick a restaurant and we headed to her favorite seafood place. We talked about the movie and what a wonderful time we were having. We stayed away from discussing personal issues. She did mention her kids a couple of times but I had met them both now and it was nice knowing what kind of family she had and how they stuck together.
After dinner we went to a lounge and had a couple of drinks and she asked me to dance. The first song was a little fast but we managed to move to it. I wasn't able to do any pelvic thrusts but I was able to still move my upper body pretty good. Watching her dance and shake her butt was great. Her dimpled smile was getting to me. During the dancing she looked directly at me. I knew she was dancing for me and not the crowd around her.
The fast song ended and they played one of my oldies but goodies. I thought about her while I took her in my arms and danced to:
"There I've Said It Again," I sang lightly into her ear and pulled her ever so close.
I love you, there's nothing to hide, It's better than burning inside; I love you, no use to pretend, There I've said it again.
I've said it, what more can I say; Believe me, there's no other way, I love you, I will to the end. There I've said it again.
As the song played on I continued to whisper the words in Lil's ear. God, I wish I could come up with the words these song writers did.
I try to drum up A phrase that will sum up All that I feel for you, But what good are phrases? The thought that amazes Is that you love me, And it's heavenly.
Forgive me for wanting you so, But one thing I want you to know, I've loved you since heaven knows when, There I've said it again.
By the end of the song I had my arms around her and her head lying gently against my shoulder. It was a moment that I hoped would never end. The words from the song I really meant - God I wish I could speak like that. So many songs have my true feelings in them, this being one of them. Being able to tell someone you care for using just the right words.
When the song ended I hated letting go of Lil. I stood there for a few seconds just kind of rubbing her back and the silkiness of her dress. She pulled back a little and said, "I really love that song."
"Me too, one of my favorites. See we already have something in common," I smiled.
"Henry, I believe we have so much in common that we will both be surprised," she smiled but I wasn't exactly sure what she meant.
We finished our drinks and Lil said that it was time to head home. After all, she promised Amber she would be home early and it was just past midnight.
At her door she told me she had a wonderful time. It was the nicest night out that she could remember in recent times.
"Would you like to come in for a cup of coffee?" asked Lil.
Earlier in the evening we decided that I could drive her car back to the restaurant and leave the keys under the floor mat. So I was surprised when she asked me if I wanted to come in for coffee.
I guess I must have been staring at her when she said, "It really is for coffee, Henry. I have two kids here," she smiled.
"Oh, yes, I know. Sure, coffee would be great." I really felt stupid but Lil made me feel at ease.
The kids came in and asked us if we had a nice time. Brad was on crutches but of course without the artificial leg. It was so good to see him doing for himself. I asked both kids if they would like to go to Ohio with me some weekend. Maybe we could take in a park and I'd introduce them to my sister's kids who were about the same age.
"Yeah," said Brad. "That would be great. We can go to Cedar Point. We were always going to go there but never made it. It's supposed to be awesome and have a million roller coasters."
"Well, Brad, it does have a goodly number of coasters but a long way from a million. Let me get together with my sister and I'll get back with you on when we might be able to go. Of course your mom has to want to go too. I need someone to go on rides with also."
Lil was shaking her head and smiling. "You're not going to make me the bad guy here. I've always wanted to go there since I was a little girl. So, Mr. Henry, it's in your lap now. We will all be waiting for that call." Everyone was laughing.
Lil and I stepped on the porch to say goodnight. "Lil, would it be too forward of me to kiss you goodnight?"
She didn't say a word, but moved right into my arms and put her arms around my neck and kissed me as passionately as I could ever remember being kissed. Soft, warm, moist kisses, we parted our lips just a little to help with our breathing. I was rubbing the silkiness of the back of her dress and was getting flushed when the door opened. We quickly separated.
There stood Amber. "Just wondering if you were coming back in, Mom," she smiled.
"Close the door. I'll be in, in a minute." The door closed and she kissed me one final time. "Thank you for a wonderful evening, Henry, and don't forget your promise to the kids. I can assure you they won't forget.
I left with a smile on my face and went back to the restaurant. They weren't open all night so it was somewhat dark when I got back. I parked her car next to the building where some light shone on it and put her keys under the mat like I was instructed. There were a few trucks there, probably a few truckers catching their sleep. I climbed up in my cab and lay back on my bed compartment and went to sleep dreaming of my wonderful evening.
I awoke around six when a few of the trucks started their engines. I could see Ralph opening up the restaurant and went in to have some breakfast.
"Hi, Henry. How was your date last night?"
"If I were to use Brad's words, I would have to say ‘Awesome, totally awesome'. Seriously, Ralph, between you and me, Lil is the nicest woman I have ever met. I sincerely mean it."
"Well, Henry, you'll be glad to know she thinks a lot of you too. Just take your time and give love a chance. She's been through a lot."
"Thanks, Ralph, I'll do my best. How about some bacon and eggs before I hit the road."
I had my breakfast and headed for home, a much happier man.
On Sunday, I stopped by to talk to Beth and Lloyd. I asked them if they would mind having Lil and her kids at their house for a couple of days
"No problem, Henry. We have plenty of room," replied Lloyd.
"Would you guys all like to go to Cedar Point one day. I kind of promised Lil's kids. I'd even be willing to pay everyone's way."
Beth laughed. "She must be special if you're willing to fork over the big bucks. Sure, I think our kids would like it too. They haven't been there in a few years. How old are Lil's kids, Henry?"
"Brad is fourteen and Amber is almost thirteen. It should work out just right with Ray being fifteen and Cindy fourteen. I think the kids will really get along."
"So, Henry, when is this trip going to take place?" asked Beth
"As soon as you call Lil and set it up. Please make it as soon as possible, for my sake."
"Okay, we'll try for three weeks from now. Is that soon enough to suit you, big brother?" laughed Beth. "I'll call your girlfriend tomorrow and set it up and see if that date is good for them. You can pick them up on Friday. We'll go to Cedar Point on Saturday and you can take them back on Sunday."
"Thanks, Sis. I owe you big time. I'll never forget this."
Time didn't go by quickly enough for me. Beth had called Lil and all the plans were made. I had to make a couple of short trips in the week that followed. They were all in the Midwest.
Readers might not understand why I didn't constantly call Lil. It's because I wasn't positive on how she felt. I didn't want to become a nuisance to her. Like Ralph said, "Take your time and love will win out in the end." That's what I was hoping for. Besides I wanted to let her know about my past before introducing her to my sister and her family.
It was one week before our planned trip when I decided to get in my pickup and go see Lil. I had to tell her about my past before we went together to Cedar Point. It was less than a three hour drive from my apartment to the restaurant.
I pulled up in my pickup and I saw Lil look out the window at me. As I walked up and entered the door a smiling Lil came up to me.
"What are you doing here, Henry? Isn't our date with the kids next week?" she asked.
"Lil, I told you I had things I had to tell you. Things that might make you feel differently about me. I have to get them off my chest before our relationship goes any further. I care too much for you not to tell you these things. I would never lie to you but keeping my past from you would be just as bad."
"Okay, Henry, let's go to the table by the kitchen and you can tell me everything that is on your mind."
I sat facing Lil with my back to the kitchen door. I began by telling her about my dancing and hoped it wouldn't affect our relationship.
"Lil, I was a dancer. I danced for money and did really good. I'm telling you this because I want you to know all about my past. A lovely woman named Julie helped me after my hip injury. I went to see her a few weeks ago in hopes of her talking to you and letting you know that I'm not a bad person. She was my agent and was like a mother to me. I was unable to find her. You need to know that I have been with many..." Lil cut me off.
She was smiling at me and put her finger to my lips to hush me.
"Henry, before you tell me anymore I need to tell you something." She looked at the kitchen door and yelled, "Mom, would you come out here please?"
I turned around and there stood Julie, my friend and agent. She was Lil's mother. My mouth fell open and my eyes were full of tears. I stood up and hugged Julie.
"Hi, Henry, or should I say, ‘Billy Bob, The Charmer.' It's so good to see you again. When Lil first described a new trucker who walked with a limp, named Henry, I had a feeling in my heart. I never thought I would see you again."
"It's just Henry now, Julie, and I do have to say it's so good to see you. After talking to your grandson I went to find you and to thank you for saving my life."
"Just like you told my grandson, Henry. It was up to you if you were to survive. I'm just glad you made the right choice. So, what's this I hear you wanting to date my daughter?" she smiled.
"Julie, I haven't even told Lil yet, but I'm in love with her. I'm willing to take it slow and easy. I just want to be with her."
I turned around and Lil was crying. She got up and kissed me. Julie shook her head and smiled. "I don't know any two people who make a better couple. I know neither of you need my permission to date, but you both have it."
"Are there any other secrets you haven't told me?" I asked Lil in a smiling way.
"Yes, there is. I promise to tell you next week when we go on vacation with the kids. It has to wait till then."
"Well, I drove for three hours to tell you something you already know. Do you think you can at least get off early and have dinner with me or something?"
Lil looked over at her mom. "Go ahead, Lil, there's no way I'm going to interfere here. Have a nice time. Oh, Lil, do you want me to take the kids to my house tonight?" her mom was smiling at her.
"Mom! How could you say such a thing? You ought to be ashamed of yourself," she said while smiling at her mom. "Mom, on second thought, can you spend the night at my house with the kids? I really don't know how late I'll be tonight."
Lil and her mom were both smiling. "Mom, I love you so much and want to thank you for always being there with me and for me."
I looked at the two women. Now I know where Lil got her personality from. They didn't look a lot alike but had a lot of the same actions.
Julie looked at me. "Henry, I never in my life thought I'd say this to a former dancer of mine, but you take good care of my little girl. She deserves the best and you make sure she doesn't get any less."
Lil and I left the restaurant and she went home to change clothes. When we got to her house Amber and Brad were surprised to see me.
"What are you doing here, Henry? You're not canceling out on next week are you? Me and Amber are really looking forward to going with you and Mom."
"No, next week is still on and I'll be here Friday to pick you all up. There were just a few things I wanted to talk over with your mom before next week."
"You love her, don't you, Henry? I can see it in your smile," replied Amber.
"Amber, watch what you say! You want to scare him away?" replied Lil.
"Mom, just so you know, Amber and I talk to each other a lot and we know how it's been since Dad's death. We want you to be happy. Henry seems to make you happy and we just want you to know we like him too. Well, anyway, Mom, have a nice date," said Brad.
Lil was crying as she hugged and kissed her kids. "I love you guys," she said to her kids. She ran in the bedroom to get dressed.
Brad spoke first. "Henry, you are a nice guy and we really do think you're kind of an awesome person. Mom means everything to us. Please never hurt her in any way. We could never forgive you if you did that."
"Okay, guys, I have something to tell you. I love your mother very much and want to ask her to marry me next week at Cedar Point. I need to know if you think she'll say ‘Yes' so I don't terribly embarrass all of us. Also, are you two okay with it? There is no way I would ask without your consent. I want to be a family, not destroy one. I won't be here to replace your father but to be a friend you can turn to in time of need." I couldn't believe I had tears in my eyes awaiting their answer.
"Go for it, Henry. We're behind you a hundred percent. This should be awesome!" replied Amber.
"What will be awesome?" asked Lil as she came back in the room.
"Next week, Mom. It's going to be awesome," replied Brad.
"Look, kids, I don't know how late I'll be tonight so grandma will be stopping by in case you need anything."
"Oh, Mom, we can take care of ourselves," said Brad.
"I know, Honey, but grandma loves to be with you kids."
‘It's okay, Mom. We'll call her and tell her to pick up a horror flick and a pizza. Grandma is kind of a cool lady, even if she is older," smiled Brad.
I was looking at Lil all the time she was talking to the kids. "You look beautiful, Lil. I wish I could write words to say how nice you look."
"Can we take my car instead of your pickup then? I'm not sure about climbing up in the cab with a skirt this short," she laughed.
We headed to the lounge where they had the beautiful music. We ordered dinner and just talked for awhile with the beautiful music in the background. After dinner we got up to dance. They were playing some beautiful soft songs but I wanted something really special. I went up to the band and asked for a request and handed them twenty dollars.
The band leader said that he had a special request for a special couple. "Henry and Lil, this one's for you. Please Love Me Forever."
I took Lil by the arm and the music started. They even had a singer step forward and sing the song for us. I could hear every word as I pulled Lil in close to me. I could almost hear both of our hearts beating.
Please love me forever Don't forget me ever Just listen to my plea Please don't stop loving me.
You're in my dreams nightly Don't take my love lightly Begging on bended knee Please don't stop loving me.
Oh, when I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord your love I'll keep If I should die before I wake I'll come back for you That's no mistake.
Oh, I'll love you forever Can't forget you ever Our love was meant to be Please don't stop loving me.
The singer continued on singing all the verses of the song. Such a beautiful song. Lil and I moved slowly on the dance floor holding each other tightly.
At the end of the song both Lil and I had tears in our eyes as we kissed right there on the dance floor. "I asked them to play that song for us. It's how I really feel about you but am unable to say it myself."
We sat down at our table and Lil said she had something to tell me. She began by saying she saw me perform way back when she was eighteen. Her mom never knew about it at the time. She of course since had told her.
"I thought you were a really good looking guy and a great dancer but I hated you. I knew about the parties that the dancers had and the thought of using women really pissed me off. I told my friends that the women were just as bad. Any woman who really cared about herself wouldn't flaunt herself in front of guys like that. I have always prided myself in trying to be a good woman; needless to say I got over hating others over the years. Mom explained that not all people look at things the same way. So I tried to give people the benefit of the doubt. I guess that's why I'm usually smiling and happy. Now I have another problem."
I thought to myself, 'oh, no, here it comes.'
"Henry, I'm scared. I'm a woman and I want to make love and be loved by you, but you've been with so many women that I'm afraid it won't mean anything. It really is a worry I have. I need for you to think on it. If you don't think you can be monogamous to me, then I have to know. I am a woman that could never stand a husband who would cheat on her. As much as I love you I couldn't stay with you.
I couldn't believe it. The woman I loved felt the same way I did. She was worried about a cheating husband and I was worried about a cheating wife. Julie was right when she said the two of us were made for each other.
We danced a few more dances and then I took Lil home. I wanted to make love with Lil in the worst way but I had to wait. I wanted it to be on her terms. God, I loved being with her.
It was three in the morning when we pulled up in front of her house. I couldn't believe how time flew by when we were together. All we did was dance, kiss and hold hands while we stood on the porch and kissed some more. I didn't want to say goodnight but I knew I had to head for home.
"I'll see you next Friday. Believe me when I say that this was one of the best nights of my life. I want you to give some serious thought about us being together. I really do love you, Lil."
We kissed one more time before I got in my pickup and headed home. I was so hyped up that I would have no problem staying awake. It was so hard to believe that the woman I loved was worried about pleasing me and me being unfaithful.
I got home and slept most of the next day. My phone rang and it was my sister telling me that the tickets were ordered for the theme park and wanted to make sure everything was a go.
"Sis, everything is wonderful. I think my life is finally coming together."
I made one long run to the Midwest the following week. I wanted to make sure nothing messed up my plans. On Friday morning I headed to Pittsburgh. When I got there, the kids were waiting outside for me. Out through the door came a smiling Lil. Damn, she was such a beautiful gal with shoulder length hair and that smile showing those beautiful dimples. I unhooked the trailer from the semi. I had promised the kids that I would let them ride in the semi and I didn't need to pull an empty trailer along.
The kids were already in the truck honking the horn and yelling for their grandparents to come and see them. Julie and Ralph stepped out of the building for a minute to wave to the kids and they both gave Lil a hug and Ralph shook my hand.
"Take good care of my little girl," Julie said as she hugged me.
The trip to Ohio was a blast. The kids honked the horn almost continuously. The kids told me their mom never looked happier. She had told me that she hadn't been on a vacation in years. Her husband worked a lot while the kids were growing up. There were always promises of vacations but they never materialized, then he died.
I asked the kids if they wanted to stop at a truck stop and grab a sandwich. They both gave me a dirty look and I got a big grin from Lil.
"They're always eating truck stop food. Maybe you should try just about any burger joint and you have the kids on your side," smiled Lil.
I pulled into the next burger joint I saw and the kids got out and went and got themselves something to eat. I was so proud of Brad wearing his artificial leg and using a cane to go get his food.
I pulled up at my sister's house and out came Beth and her kids, Cindy and Ray. The kids all said hi to one another and Cindy asked Amber to come with her and she would show her the house and her bedroom. Ray looked over at Brad.
"Hey, Bro, want to come in the back and throw around the football a little?"
It got silent for a minute. Brad hadn't thrown a football since the loss of his leg.
"Hey, man, I'm sorry but I only have one good leg," replied Brad.
Ray looked at his leg and smiled. "You don't catch a football with your legs. It looks like you got some strong arms there, bro; let's try catching the football with them."
Brad grinned; we knew then that they were going to be good friends as they headed back to play a little catch.
Lil got out of the truck and went over to Beth and gave her a big hug. "It's so good to see you again," replied Lil.
"Whoa here! What do you mean again? Have you met Beth before?"
"I told you I had one more secret to tell you and that was it. Beth and Lloyd came to see me about two months ago. It was after you talked with Brad."
"Sis, what's this all about?"
"Henry, you talked about Lil for months. You kept saying how she was the perfect woman. How you really cared for her. I know you thought she was too good for you, and I might add she is," said Beth with a smile. "One day while you headed west, Lloyd had a meeting of insurance agents in Pittsburgh so I went with him and we decided to eat at this truck stop where you said the food was great and the service was even better. I just wanted to see the woman who stole my big brother's heart. The minute I walked into the restaurant, I knew which waitress it was.
"After Lloyd and I ate I asked Lil if I could speak to her frankly. I told her who I was and we talked about you. You were my big brother and I didn't want to see you get hurt. She already knew about your past because her mother told her all about you. Even though she liked you, she was scared about getting into a relationship and then being thrown aside. I told her the truth about you. You're the best brother a woman could have."
Lil continued, "Henry, I wanted to go out with you but I was afraid. Your sister told me about how kind and generous you are and that you had outgrown the - how should I put it - the open sexual activities. When you came in after helping Brad I remembered what your sister had said and that's why I agreed to go out with you. I've never regretted it. Beth and I decided to keep it a secret in case it didn't work out between us. Please forgive us."
"You two are the most special women in my life. I could never not forgive either of you. I love you both too much. But Lil, in the future, no more secrets."
Lloyd had come in from work so we were all free for the weekend. We decided to order out for dinner and just enjoy the evening on Friday. The kids got along great. All they could talk about were the rides at Cedar Point.
It was getting late and I headed over to my apartment. Beth had pulled the mattresses off the bed and one kid slept on the box springs and the other the mattress on the floor. They were only single beds and we knew the guys wouldn't care about sleeping in the tiny bed. I remember when we were kids, that's what my parents used to do, so I guess Beth learned from Mom.
The couch was a hide-a-bed and they opened it up for Lil. I sure wish I could have stayed there with her but I knew it wasn't a good idea. I said my goodnights and told them I would see them first thing in the morning.
When I got to the house the next morning, everyone was already eating breakfast. The two girls, Amber and Cindy were making pancakes for every one. After everyone said "Good morning" to me Amber set me down a plate of flapjacks.
"Not bad, little ladies, not bad at all," I smiled at the girls.
We had to take Beth's van and Lloyd's car to the park. There was no way I was going to fuel up the semi. The kids were a little disappointed but got over it rather quickly.
When we got to the park the kids were happy as could be. I asked Brad if he wanted a wheelchair and he said he would be a little embarrassed being pushed around all day. Ray came up with a great idea. They would take turns pushing each other in the wheelchair. If it was a long distance to walk, they would push Brad, if it was a short distance, one of the other kids could be pushed. The girls loved the idea and Brad thought it was okay too.
The kids quickly found out that if Brad was in the wheelchair that he could go to the head of the line for the different rides. It didn't take long for everyone to want to push Brad.
Every time Lil looked at the smile on Brad's face a tear would well up in her eyes and she would squeeze my hand. Brad had finally accepted his disability and was dealing with it in a positive way. The kids probably went on every coaster ride they could. They kept taking turns riding with Brad so they could all get in more rides.
We told the kids to hang together while the four of us adults went on some rides ourselves. I loved the coaster because Lil would hold on to me tightly while screaming her lungs out. We rode almost as much as the kids did. Brad asked his mother to ride one of the coasters with him and it was funny watching her son laugh while his mother held on to him for dear life. We bought the pictures of her screaming for future laughs.
Toward the end of the night we went through one of the fun houses where there were all types of windows to walk through. I was first in line and I let go of Lil's hand and got way ahead of her.
"Henry, get back her and help me through this thing," she was laughing.
The kids all passed her up and made it out before her. Finally, Beth and Lloyd came up behind her and they all came out together. When Lil came out, the kids were standing there with me smiling.
"What? What is it? Why are you all smiling? Is my hair a mess? Come on, guys, what gives? asked Lil."
"They're waiting for me, Lil. They're waiting for me to ask you to be my wife."
I reached in my pocket and pulled out an engagement ring.
"Lil, I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you at my side. We don't have to get married in a week or a month or even a year, until you are ready. I just want to know that sometime in the near future you will marry me. I promise I will do everything in my power to make you happy. Lillian Andrea Jamison, will you marry me?"
All our eyes were now on Lil. She had tears in her eyes but finally said, "Yes, Henry, I'll marry you."
Everyone was happy hugging each other while I put her engagement ring on her finger next to her wedding ring that she wore from her deceased husband. The kids were all happy and Beth and Lloyd were busy hugging Lil, but I felt something was a little off. Call it a gut feeling or a man's intuition but something was a little off kilter for me. I hugged and kissed Lil and she was crying but something still wasn't right.
We all left the park and started on the drive home. Lil was quieter then usual. When I asked her if everything was alright she said, "Everything was wonderful."
We had the boys riding with us in the van. Brad asked Lil if it was alright to take off his artificial leg. He said his leg was beginning to hurt from being on it all day.
"Sure, Honey, Beth said there was a blanket you could put on your lap. It will be softer on you leg," replied Lil.
Brad looked at Ray. "Hey, Bud, it won't make you freak out seeing a half leg will it?"
"No, if it was right after the accident it might do a number on my stomach but not now. I have to tell you, Brad; to me you're an inspiration. A young guy like you handling his disability the way you do. It makes me proud to call you my friend."
"Thanks, Ray. Some people still want to make fun of me but I've learned to deal with it."
"Hey, if anyone says any shit to you, you give me a call and we'll use our three good legs to kick their asses." The boys started laughing.
I was proud of Ray for standing up for Brad but I knew I had to say something. "Hey, guys, let's watch the language back there, okay?"
"Sorry, Uncle Henry, but it would piss me off and we would - well, you know." The boys started laughing again. I glanced at Lil and she was smiling too.
When we got back to the house, Brad used his crutches and Ray carried in his walking stick along with his leg. Everyone else came in and talked about what a good time they had and decided it was time to go to bed.
Lil walked onto the front porch with me and told me she loved me and kissed me goodnight. I told her I would see her first thing in the morning. I had to take her and the kids back home. I kissed her one more time and went to my truck. I still felt that something was bothering Lil. I sure wish I knew what it was. I really did love her.
I was back home lying on my bed in my jockeys thinking about Lil. About a half hour later there was a knock on the door. I got up to answer it and there stood Lil.
"Come in, Honey, what's the matter? How did you get here?" I asked.
"I asked Beth if I could borrow the van to come see you. Everyone else is asleep. All I could think about was you and the marriage proposal."
"I didn't mean to force you into a decision. I'm so sorry."
"No, you didn't force me. It's something that has bothered me. I have to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I can be good for you. I love you with all my heart but I'm worried that I can't satisfy you. I want you to make love to me."
"Lil, I have no doubt in my mind that we will be great together. You don't have to do this. It's not a contest. I want you because I've been in love with you from almost the first time I saw you. There is nothing more that I would want than to make love to you. Are you really sure about this?"
"I'm sure, Henry, but I'm very nervous. Please be gentle with me. I haven't been with a man since the death of my husband."
I slowly unbuttoned her blouse and removed it from her shoulders. I undid her bra and let it slip off her shoulders also. She quickly came to me and hugged me, pressing her breasts against my chest. I reached down and undid her dress pants and let them fall to the floor. All she had on now was her panties. I backed her up to the bed till she sat down on the side of it.
I laid her back and then while she was lying there I slipped off her panties. I got on my knees and buried my face against her moist pussy.
"Henry, you don't have to do that," she said while breathing hard.
"Does it make you feel good?"
"Yes!"
"Do you like it?"
"I love it, but you don't have to..."
She stopped talking while I buried my face against her soft moist pussy and my tongue buried within her. God, she tasted so good. So hot, wet, and wild, as she pushed her pussy hard against my face.
"More! Oh, God, Henry, more, oh, so good, Henry, Henry, Henry," she yelled as she had her first climax."
"Lil, you taste so good, I could eat you forever."
"If I have my way you will," she smiled.
We climbed upon the bed and she asked me what way I wanted to do it for the first time.
"I want on top so I can tease you to death," I laughed.
I placed my cock between her legs and kept rubbing the head against her pussy lips while watching her pink pussy opening for me. Then I pushed the head in just enough to arouse her and then pulled back watching her opening close again.
"Enough teasing me, Henry, I want you; I want you in me right now. Make love to me Henry, please take me."
I didn't have to be asked twice as I pushed my cock deep into her and gave her what she asked for. I could see she was trying to hold back her screams but I told her to let it all out.
As she screamed out I shot my first load deep into her. After we were finished, we laid beside each other when Lil said, "Am I enough woman for you, Henry?"
She really was worried about it. "Lil, you're all the woman I could ever want. Not only are you a beautiful person and great to have sex with, but I love you which makes the sex with you better than ever."
After we rested and cuddled, Lil rolled me over on my back and got up on my lap and lowered herself down on a very hard cock. She was smiling as she lowered herself down until we were pelvis against pelvis and just rocked back and forth. I was glad that I had already came once. I knew I would never have lasted long in this position. She took my hands and put them against her breasts.
"Gently, Henry, squeeze them gently."
I rubbed and gently sucked on her nipples while she did that slow rub with my cock buried deep within her. She sat up and I glanced at her pussy and watched some of our mixed juices running out. It was so sexy and yet loving.
It wasn't long before I was ready to shoot another load. I knew she could feel it because I felt every pulse coming from within her.
"Let's come together, Henry. You have fifteen seconds before I explode with the biggest orgasm of my life."
She wasn't kidding as she pushed down hard and screamed out, totally letting herself go. I shot squirt after squirt deep into her. She started to gyrate harder and harder on my cock. We were both in a deep sweat by the time we calmed down. My cock was softening but she was still rubbing our pelvises against each other. Finally I felt her pussy stop pulsating and a smile of happiness on her face.
"You're right, Henry. We do make great love together."
She rolled off of me and lay on her side next to me. I pulled a sheet over us and we both dozed off to sleep. I awoke about two hours later and I had this nice soft warm body next to me. I moved down a little and slid my cock which was hard again into her pussy which was still full of our love juices from earlier.
I felt her raise her leg as I entered her. God, how I wish I could wake up to this every morning. I started pumping her from behind. It felt great.
"Henry, I have to go back to Beth's house. Nobody knows I'm gone. I have to get back before anyone wakes up."
"You can go as soon as we cum," I said laughing with my play on words.
"That won't take long," she said as she gyrated her hips hard against my cock. It was everything I could do to keep it planted in her. I felt her pussy start to pulsate and knew she was there. She screamed out and I began in earnest to get my rocks off.
"Go for it, Henry, fuck my pussy, fuck me till you cum."
It wasn't in her character to talk like this. What was happening? It wasn't but a few seconds before I squirted another load into her.
"Sorry about the nasty talk, Honey, but I had to make you cum quickly. I told you I have to get back to the house and you said you had to cum before I could leave. Although it was kind of fun talking to you like that. Now I have to take a real quick shower and get back to Beth's before the kids get up."
She got up and took her shower. I laid there in bed thinking about what an incredible woman she is.
She was out of the shower in a flash and was dressing when she said," Henry, thank you for helping me with my fears. You were right, we will be great together. I love you so much. See you in a couple of hours."
She kissed me and ran out the door before I could even respond. The next thing I hear is my phone ringing. I answered it; it was my niece, Cindy.
"Uncle Henry, mom told me to call you. Are you going to sleep all day? It's already past nine and you have to take Lil, Amber and Brad home. Mom said to tell you to get your butt over here and eat breakfast."
"Is everyone up, Cindy?" I asked.
"Everyone but Lil. She must have really been worn out from the park yesterday. Mom said to let her sleep a little longer. We're having French toast this morning, so get your butt over here. Mom's letting me and Amber make breakfast again. We decided to fry up some breakfast sausage too, so hurry up before the sausage is gone."
I got up and took a quick shower and headed of to Beth's. Lil was up and dressed when I got there.
She was smiling at me when she said, "Well, hello, sleepyhead. The park must have really worn you down. You must be getting old."
I looked over at Beth and she had to turn away before breaking out in a laugh. The girls gave me some French toast and said they had to save me some sausage, the boys were going to eat it all.
--------------------------
After that day everything was great between me and Lil. She and her mom began planning a small wedding. I found out that Ralph and Julie also owned a catering service and Ralph wanted to cater our wedding. He promised us that he would just oversee it since he was supposed to be part of the wedding party.
Lil wanted him to give her away since he treated her like a daughter. She asked me if it would be alright if she asked her daughter Amber to be her maid of honor. I told her it would be great since I was going to ask Brad to be my best man.
I saw Lil maybe every two weeks in the months that followed. I called her at least every few days. I needed to see her more. One day when I was in the restaurant Ralph told me that there was a man there who asked to speak to me. Ralph took me to his table and introduced me to him.
"Henry, isn't it? I'm Hal Murray. I own one of the local brokering services here in Pittsburgh. We recently bought out one of our competitors and are looking for independent drivers to haul for us in the local areas. We need drivers with experience and good driving records. Most of the runs will be daily runs. There could be a few overnights when going into Ohio but never more than one night. Do you think you would be interested in hauling for us?"
About that time Lil came over to me and put her hand on my shoulder. I knew she wanted me to take the position so we could be together more often. Of course I wasn't stupid and took the job. It was exactly what I wanted. I was tired of the long hauls and wanted to settle down. I still wanted to be independent and drive my truck. That was perfect for me.
Lil was so happy and kissed me right there in the restaurant. I knew I made the right decision.
The following month was our wedding. We didn't wear tuxes or bridal gowns. Brad and I wore nice suits with matching ties and Lil wore a beautiful light blue dress and she really did look gorgeous. Amber was dressed in a blue dress also and it made her look much older. We stood in front of everyone as a proud family.
During our vows we made sure that we said, "To have and to hold from this day forward. To love, honor and be faithful to each other for all the days of our lives."
I know we both had tears in our eyes when saying our vows. We both confronted our fear of the cheating spouse and dealt with it up front.
The food that Ralph and Julie had for the reception was fit for a king and queen. Our band played all our favorite music including 'There I Said It Again' and my favorite, ‘Please Love Me Forever.' I held her as close as possible during these songs.
As Lil and I danced we could see all our friends and family were so happy for us. Our happiest moments came when Brad set down his walking stick and walked over to his sister and asked her to dance. There wasn't a dry eye in the place. They weren't crying for Lil and me, but for Brad who overcame his disability and was dancing with his little sister. He was proof that life can go on after an accident.
